Judo is a Japanese martial art and sport. It involves throws, hold downs, strangles and arm locks to defeat your opponent. The benefits of judo are many, and range from physical fitness and flexibility to anger management and social enjoyment.
From the absolute novice to advanced judoka, Stoke Judo Club aims to cater for all levels, under the umbrella of the British Judo Association, the British Olympic judo body. We normally will not train a student until he or she is aged 5 years, in order that the student is physically strong enough to cope with the movements. There is no upper age limit to judo- your judo can develop with your strength and fitness and you can train at the level which is suitable for you.
Stoke Judo Club trains at the Venue@tean, a multi-purpose studio, performance and training space in association with Fusion Performance Arts. Mat fees are £2.50 per session, although we offer a free taster session to new members.
